GABOEP’s Criterion for Accreditation:

GABOEP creates guidelines for internationally renowned educational institutions. These institutions are required to implement and meet quality criteria. If they are successful, they can obtain an accreditation license.

CRITERION I - MISSION

The institution must clearly define its mission and academic standards, making them easily accessible to the public. Its purpose and scope should be communicated with transparency, and its commitment to research, teaching, scholarship, and academic programs should be openly shared.

I. The institution has a well-publicised mission statement approved by its governing board. This statement reflects a purpose suitable for higher education, offers clear direction, and is widely understood by the academic community.

II. The institution evaluates mission fulfilment based on its defined goals, character, and expectations. It identifies measurable outcomes that represent an acceptable standard of achievement in fulfilling its mission.

CRITERION II - INTEGRITY

The institution operates with integrity, fulfilling its mission through inclusive structures and procedures that involve the board, administration, faculty, staff, and students.

I. The institution’s governance and administrative systems promote strong leadership and encourage collaboration to support its mission. Integrity is upheld across all institutional practices.

II. The institution remains steadfast in preserving and protecting its integrity.

CRITERION III - STUDENT LEARNING AND EFFECTIVE TEACHING

The institution provides strong evidence of student learning and teaching effectiveness, reflecting its dedication to achieving its educational objectives.

I. The institution establishes well-defined student learning outcomes for every academic program, allowing for effective and meaningful assessment.

II. The institution supports and advances exemplary teaching practices.

III. The institution cultivates learning environments that promote engagement and academic success.

IV. Comprehensive learning resources are provided to strengthen student achievement and teaching quality.

CRITERION IV - APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE

The institution promotes lifelong learning among faculty, administration, staff, and students by fostering curiosity, innovation, practical skills, and social responsibility, all aligned with its mission.

I. The institution’s board, administrators, faculty, staff, and students collectively demonstrate a strong dedication to lifelong learning.

II. Academic programs are designed to cultivate broad knowledge, critical skills, and intellectual inquiry.

III. The institution reviews the effectiveness of its curricula in preparing students for success in a global, diverse, and technology-driven world.

IV. It provides ample support and resources to enable faculty, students, and staff to responsibly gain, develop, and apply knowledge.

CRITERION V - RESOURCES, PLANNING, AND INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

The institution possesses sufficient resources, structures, and processes to fulfill its mission, elevate the quality of its educational offerings, and respond effectively to future challenges and opportunities. It is actively engaged in strategic, forward-thinking planning.

I. The institution proactively prepares for a future shaped by evolving social and economic trends.

II. Its resource base reliably supports existing academic programs and long-term initiatives aimed at maintaining and enhancing educational quality.

III. Ongoing evaluation and assessment processes provide credible insights into institutional effectiveness, informing continuous improvement strategies.

IV. Institutional planning at all levels is strategically aligned with its mission, increasing its capacity to realise long-term goals.
